Ersius followed, happily able to accompany them. Although sleeping was nice, it could become far too boring in long spurts.

Bryce waited outside, the sunshine just beginning to show behind the wooly silver clouds, dregs of last nights storm. "Hurry up," he barked.

"I'm coming," Ersius bellowed, running up to Bryce. "Why do you have to be so impatient?"
She flared her wings and hissed at him, but looked as if she was mocking.

Bryce rolled his eyes and tipped his horns toward the fiery she-dragon, hoping to avoid a fight. "Let's just get going," he muttered and let into the air, beating his wings with some difficulty at first as they warmed up and sniffing the dampen air for the savory smell of prey's sweat.

Ash heaved a sigh and with three pumps of his wings took flight into the chill of morning air. He closed his eyes and focused, taking in the all the smells. "Deer." He said after a long pause. Beating wings and wind being the only thing to break the silence

Ersius followed with ease, circling and dipping around the hunters, her senses focused on any possible trouble. If any humans were attempting to gain food, this would be the perfect time. Any dragons would be considered a threat and attacked, from the human's twisted perspectives.

Bryce swayed his tail for balance, colorless eyes darting about the lush, colorful forest. "To the South," he confirmed. "By Old Maidy's Pond. We can get them while they drink." He could feel his blood begin to pump in earnest, the thought of a hunt attuning his sense to the world.

Ersius gave a strange guttural call, as if cheering on the hunt. She swooped lower over the trees, searching for any danger to sink her claws in.

Ash pumped his wings and angled off, cutting through the chill and breeze. Adrenaline pumping through his veins as he flew. They were downwind from the pond, and he planned to use every advantage he could get. When he approached he dipped into the woods, landing not-so-elegantly in the wood surrounding the pounds, still downwind from any prey. He folded his wings to his back and waited. The scents of fish and animals drifting across his nose.

Landing quietly next to Ash, Bryce sunk his talons into the soil. The pond still bore marks of the rain, choppy silver waves and a peacefully glum over hang of fog. A small herd of deer took turns sipping from the icy depths, their hooves soundless on the velvety green moss. A few bent to gnaw the grass and uproot tulips. All was calm. For now. The male dragon turned to Ash and raised his knuckled brows a little, waiting for him to dive into the throng and strike.

Ash nodded and slowly outstretch his wings and leaned back. Preparing to pounce. All weight shifted onto his back legs and pushed up and beat his wings as he dove forward, giving him a boost of speed. He caught on beneath his claws and blew out a long breathe of fire. Burning at least two. He finished off the one beneath his claws and rushed towards the ones trying to hide in the forest.

From the moment a whiff of brimstone and scale broke the mist, the deer were chaos. They split apart and rushed together like on strange scattered entity, braying, eyes rolling, spindly legs dancing in all directions. Bryce leapt on the closest one. Strange. Most hoofed animals would keep together in a herd, and they'd have to slowly herd out the weakened or young. But this was like picking teeth from a baby's gums. Rising up, jaws spattered in blood, he left his jerking prey to bleed out into the pond and gracefully pounced on another, using his wings to shield his face from the barrage of hooves. Brin would be pleased and the mothers would be able to keep up their strength in the upcoming days.

Ash let out another gush of white fire around the clearings edges to keep the deer from escaping. Any that tried would burn up and leave them to collect it later. Smoke filled the air as he dashed towards another deer, sinking his claws deep into its skull. He tore them out and moved on, ripping the head off the next deer. He scanned the clearing for any other living animals, but most were near Bryce, so he left him to finish them off and walked towards the pond. He sipped some water and washed the blood off his claws and mouth and thought about how great a haul this would be. Though, he felt the sudden longing for a real camp that he could call home, instead of always moving around. He sighed and began collecting the bloody prey.

Not wanting the deer to die out Bryce began dumping them on the other side of the wall of fire, though some he felt too old to help reproducing and slashed their throats. They would need help hauling all of this game in, so he signaled for Ash to stay as he returned to the camp to find someone strong and awake. Though it had felt like moments, the sun had already climbed high into the sky, burning up the mist and urging the nocturnal flowers to seal themselves into a puckered bud once more.

Ash sat down as the adrenaline dripped out of his body. He felt the sun beating down on his scales. He began counting all the prey they had and went and gathered some that had died off in the lake.
Fire Starter sat outside the den. Digging away at the dirt in front of her. She looked up as Bryce wandered in. "Catch anything good?" She asked, as Brin had informed her about the hunting trip just moments before he left to scout out a new camp.

"Yeah!" he said hoarsely. "Too much for us to carry back. Care to join me?" he asked, his armored scales not showing the flush of pink on his skin, though his puffed out chest indicated that he was, perhaps, trying to impress her.

Fire Starter nodded. "Sure. Glad it was a good hunt. We might have been in trouble if it wasn't." She gestured for him to lead the way to the hunting grounds as she stretched out her wings. Completely ignoring his attempt at impressing her.
